Abigail Burkett-Vetter, DNP, PNP-C

 

Abigail has made Fargo her home for over 20 years. She graduated from UND and worked as an environmental engineer prior to beginning her healthcare career over 15 years ago. As a nurse she cared for children in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), pediatric cardiovascular ICU, and neonatal ICU (NICU). At Vanderbilt University she received both her Master’s and Doctoral degrees as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) and is board certified in both Pediatric Acute Care and Pediatric Primary Care.
 
She works as a Pediatric Hospitalist at Children’s Minnesota, as well as faculty at NDSU, where she teaches undergraduate nursing students and nurse practitioner students. She is a member of the ND Department of Health Advisory Board on LGBTQ+ health concerns and promotion and the NDSU Center for Immunization Research and Education. Abigail has been with Pinnacle Health Care since 2019.
 
When not in the clinic or hospital, you can find her traveling around the world providing medical care in remote communities and rural hospitals. She has served children and adults in Belize, Guatemala, Brazil, Haiti, Kenya, and Malawi. At home, Abigail has three sons, a golden retriever, Ruthie Belle, and two orange cats. Being active is important to her family and they enjoy spending time together hiking, swimming, kayaking, camping, running, and traveling the world.
